I don't know if I'd say all of the political arena is finding itself utilizing micro-media, but I'd bet a major shift in that arena is afoot.

When Al Gore won/lost the presidency, many people started to question the Electoral College process. He won the popular vote, but ultimately lost the race.

An argument aginst the EC process was that it was originally put into place in a time where information wasn't as readily available as it is today. Now we can get whatever we need/want to know at the touch of a button. We are inundated by information.

Micro-media is a continuation of that evolution. But I think that the project itself is equally as important as the medium Clinton chose. Politicians always talk about valuing the opinions of their constituents and incourage letters, calls, and in current times, emails.

Today, the younger generations have a certain apathetic attitude towards politics. Although this was a fluffy attempt at getting her name and face out there, it was immensely effective in doing something else; it allowed her access to a very broad audience, including the politically fickle. And because of it's interactive nature, it drew them in.

Clinton and her campaign advisors are a whole box of smart cookies, in my opinion.
