Many would argue that people ARE judging Clinton on her positions and not her gender. There will be a minority president before a woman. Why? Because minorities will support each other. Women, like you alluded to, are divided in their support.

If people decide against voting for Clinton due to her position on issues, then they are at least giving her a fair chance to voice her opinions as they would with any other candidate. However, if people completely ignore her platform due to gender, then you can safely assume it is due to prejudice.

I think you're missing the point. Of course it's prejudice if they ignore hers or any other person's platform due to gender, race, age, etc. Just because she is a woman doesn't make her special in that regard. People voted against Bush because they thought he was too religious. They voted for JFK because he wasn't old. They voted against Dole because he was old. Being a woman doesn't make her different than any other candidate. No one cried prejudice when Dole lost.

Dude, all she said was people should judge Clinton on her platform, not her platform shoes. Don't twist her words.

Did the American people listen to Dole before they determined he was too old to assume a presidential role? Yes, they did as he succeeded at the primaries. Many suggest that Dole lost due to his lackluster campaign. At least, he was given a fair chance, despite his “age”.

By the way, exactly which presidential campaign are you referring to? Dole ran for vice- president in 1976 and for president in 1988 and 1996. He wasn’t old at each attempt, was he?

Again, you're missing my point. Dole wasn't too old any time he ran. (And at some point you'll have to explain to me how someone runs for vice president) Dole was incompentent. That's why he wasn't, in fact, successful. What I'm trying to get you to realize is that women play the prejudice card when they don't have to.

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant to say was, “Dole ran for vice-president with General Ford as president in 1976 and for president in 1988 and 1996.”
